Once more the warlord games day was upon us and I wandered over with a couple of people in the form of Kris & Salma and met up with Coops whilst we were there as well.
Well it didn't bode well as we were turned away from the car park.....
it was rammed! and that was a good thing, I was spotted by a few people over the day including a very frothy Ben who I'm glad to say has the same amount of madness as myself when it comes to picking up random systems!
so the reception had a few games running as well as the designer studio guys talking people though the process of making a model and the casts as well,
the cabinets had some really cool bits in, only problem was the sun was blazing through the windows making it impossible to take deceit pictures and the backpack brigade was out in force being "special" as usual
As this was Salma's first gaming day, I made sure that the whole end to end process of model making was learnt, more to stop the moaning about prices ;)
We also dragged Salma on the workshop tour,
the day was shaping up nicely and after some shopping was time to dump the stuff in the car and get some lunch, then it was time to roll some dice!
in the end we decided to give in her Majesty's name a crack as the bolt action tables were either busy or no one around, and the judge dredd intro area was busy all day!
So I took command of the the French foreign legion and was being picked off on all three sides so gave as good as I got and made sure I took as many of them with me as possible!
so a quick wander around snapping pics of the various games that being played though out the day,
overall the standard of the tables was top notch and superb detail on some of them,
I spotted these on the sarrissa stand and these were really nice, loads of scope for various systems.
So my haul today consisted of the rule book and 2 supplements for in her Majesty's name, I also go to chat to the chap who wrote the rules and he was after battle reports and the like so I'll see what I can sort out for him, a box of continental infantry for muskets and tomahawks in a couple of weeks,

Martian front - Reinforcements inbound!
So with the demo night rapidly approaching I decided to get some more infantry painted up,
well "some" is another 5 units!
so that lot is a mere 150 points! that's not even the base cost of a assault tripod...
next will be 12 tanks which should be done for next weeks demo, myself and Lee are aiming for 1000 points a side, of course I'll be putting up plenty of pics and my initial thoughts on the actual game itself,
I'm also wandering over the warlord open day so I'll be putting up plenty of pics from that and see what info I can find out about whats coming up over at warlord HQ,

Warzone - Brotherhood "finished"
A couple of weeks ago I did a test paint for my brotherhood army that I picked up at Expo at the end of May,
well in true Anton fashion I've got the whole lot painted!
So your looking at 2 starter sets, a unit of Sacred warriors and a unit of Valkyries,
I've had excellent feedback with regards to the grey and red colour scheme and now that the whole army is done I'm really chuffed with them and they'll catch loads of attention at the Portal demo day on the 2nd Aug
The judicators in the different load outs that you can take in the game.
two of the four inquisitors, these were great to paint, not quite sussed them out gaming wise yet but with some more pratice I'm sure it'll click!
A close up of the Valkyries, really nice models to paint and gaming wise they are not too shabby either,
and finally the sacred warriors these nutters are superb! great sculpts and a pleasure to paint, however on the table these guys are rock solid and lift their robes up and flash the enemy before beating them to death!
all of this lot comes to about 1000 points, I'm going to have to double up the trooper units though as you can only have 4 troops in a FOC, as with Laura the Valkyries become troops.
After a bit of pondering and wanting to be able to have some variety with the brotherhood I've ordered two Crucifiers as my lord choices and with the new build your own hero PDF these can be warlords as well.
I also picked up a couple of squads of mortifcators as the rules for these are pure filth and will have Rob moaning till the cows come home!
and because it'd be wrong not to I've ordered another squad of sacred warriors with one of them destined to become a warlord again from the build your hero PDF.
So if you want to see these guys in the flesh and are around the Burton upon Trent area on the 2nd Aug myself & Lee with his fantastic looking imperial will be demoing all day.
