Addation to the household - The Covid Armies continue

Well once again the month goes on buy and before you realise its time for a monthly update!

An action packed month in the world of the Anton real life wise however lets focus on the plastic crack that we all love and cherish.

Way way way back when I started doing the traitor knight army for horus heresy I gave myself a personal pledge that I would only play with the knights once they were all painted.

I didn't think this would be an actual realistic goal as every gamer has never really "finshed" an army. However I thing this is a first certainly for me where I'm a mere two knights away to completing the list that I put togeather a while back.

I wasn't expecting to have three normal knights in the force only one, but as I got a good deal I figured why not!

All that is left to add to the above is Acheron and a Castigator and its done and dusted!

The actual list itself will be...

++ Questoris Knight Crusade Army (Questoris Knight Crusade Army) ++

+ Troops +

Scion Auxilia
Questoris Knight Armiger Talon: 2x Armiger Autocannon, Meltagun
Questoris Knight Armiger Talon: 2x Armiger Autocannon, Meltagun

Scion Martial
Questoris Knight Paladin: Heavy Stubber, Household Rank, Questoris Battlecannon, Reaper Chainsword, Stormspear rocket pod

+ Fast Attack +

Scion Dolorous
Cerastus Knight-Acheron: Acheron pattern flame cannon, Household Rank, Reaper Chainfist

+ Elites +

Aucteller
Cerastus Knight-Castigator: Castigator pattern bolt cannon, Household Rank, Tempest Warblade

+ HQ +

Seneschal
Cerastus Knight-Atrapos: Household Rank, Lascutter, Singularity Cannon

I've been told by a number of sources that this particular knight is a quite a pain in the arse and looking at the weapons its quite tasty so I'll look forward to fielding this lovely lot in 2022!

I decided to go gucci with the weapons and try a glow effect, which I'm quite happy with.

So whilst this was being painted which was a bloody slog to be honest as I've fired the 3D printer back up and been sorting out some commisson stuff for the same chap who asked for the Galactica earlier in the year.

After chit chatting with the chap I found out that he's not been having a particularly good time at the moment and as a big Star Trek fan I printed this out just need to clean it up and give it a blast of paint.

And I've also decided to join the butt plug painting gang!

Just need to work out what 5 man unit to paint with them!

Mean while I managed to get a socially distanced game in of the new Warlord game Victory at Sea, now if you have been a gamer for a while this is the ruleset that Mongoose Publishing did for A Call to Arms for babylon 5 about 15ish years ago then converted that core system to WW2 naval warfare and its eventually been bought by Warlord and released with some tweeks by the orginal rules writer and models to go with it.

However this is not without the controversy of the ship models being on bases, which is like marmite you either love it or hate it. Now I'll fess up at first I turned my nose up at these and wasn't moist for it at all however after seeing them in the flesh at the Warlord shop I didn't think that they were too bad.

So with a game arranged with a very old short and grumpy bloke, I decided that fully painted was the way to go and with that in mind I hit youtube and found a really good fast and dirty way to paint these tiny little surface skimmers!

Seriously check this guy out as I took this....

To this in about five and half hours...

And a big chunk of that was waiting for washes and the airbrush colours to dry!

Over all I'm really happy with these as a tabletop quaility paint job and I feel anything more would just be wasted on a game that I'll play now and then.

Continuing with the Warlord stuff I got some paint on a few bits for my K-47 AI British army, so a couple of units, HQ element and an Observer to kickstart this into action.

Now the plan is to do a slow grow on this and I've already got another 2 units on the painting table.

However as I live in hope that I'll be able to book a demo table as the Leicester Phat cats I've started working on some thing to face the machine gun toting robots....

Finally I also decided to start on some of the starwars bits that I've had lying around for a while and nothing better than some good old waist high cover!

I tried something differant with these and got a makeup brush to use for the drybrushing and it worked a bloody treat!

So onto the pledge!

Bought  3

Painted 47

Differance +44

so despite a month of low motivation its a healthy amount of stuff that I've knocked out.

Now with our glorious leader locking down for a month I'm sure more hobby will get done, assuming work doesn't go bonkers!

So stay safe and no licking people!

Necromunda - Analogue Version.

Welcome to the underhive!

Now due to the PS4 version of Necromunda I got the urge to paint some goliaths for necromunda and rather than the usual 90's bright colours I decided to go down the route of dark and grimy which is how the game looks and I really like that.

I've armed the gangers pretty much how they come out of the box as the forgeworld weapons were not available however I am considering getting a second box so that I can have some options and also use them in ZM games as crew for the ship.

I'm also looking at the croc type thingie as well but will have to wait until I've got a bit more of my back log sorted out.

That being said I've "aquired" some K47 British that I'll be painting up but will need to chat with Spencer to decide on a theatre of opertations for the colour scheme.

Rather than the "usual" stuff for an alternative WW2 system my fetish with robots continues!

So lets have a look at the pledge for the month of September...

Bought - 13

Painted - 23

Differance +10

quite a quiet month for myself life has been quite busy and the PS4 has once more taken up more time than I expected however I've 2 large models that are nearing completion so October will have some sexy stuff!

I've also got a bit of a terrain bug at the moment so as part of Operation Finish that Fucking Model I'm adding some bits of terrain that I've had kicking around for a couple of years for Starwars legion.

Until next time stay safe and don't lick other peoples dice!

Back to the Brushes (Well Kinda!)

Well once again a blink of an eye and the month has few by!!

So this month has been another action packed Covid-19 lockdown, yep thats no gaming, and mainly doing adult type stuff and not in a good way ;)

However inbetween all the usual bits I did manage to get some paint on some models!

Now after the amazing amount of Nid's that I painted in a very short space of time I made the mistake of switching on the PS4 and hey presto Horizon Zero Dawn was in in full swing along side Fortnite with the GC!

I needed a pallett clenser and I decided that would be some AI orks that I've had for ages!

These were reasonably simple to paint and I tried something new in the way of stencils that I'd picked up from Barwell Bodyworks a while back and they are bang on!

This gave me a good boost of motivation and next on the list was some odds and sods for one of the local chaps for Carnaveale

I'd had these half done for ages but needed that final push to get them done and now that they are finished I'm really happy with them as I've not done any terrain in a while!

That in turn made me switch on the 3D printer and away we went with some more Nid terrain, I might have this lot painted up by 2021!

I wasn't finished at that point, I then found some 30K epic stuff I'd "aquired" a while back and decided to slap some paint on these as I'm looking to pick up a resin printer towards the end of the year so this was a test run which got the Phosphex boys quite excited!

continung the "naughty" theme I finished off some rhinos for the Raptors, All I needed to do to these was the decals and weathering which didn't take too long. Ironicly the decal sheet cost more than the rhinos!

So onto yet another finish a model random paint! I've had the hell blade for a while and its a model that I've liked since it was first released, however only gifted it a couple of years ago but was hidden in the shit pit of the man cave only to be rediscovered recently!

Any way as the chances of me playing chaos in 40K are pretty slim as I don't really like some of the latest deamon type engines I decided to turn this into a ground support flier for the Worldeaters and its come out way better that I expected.

I did play about with the underside on the fighter and tried the airbrush blending techique which came out better that I expected. All I need to do is sort out a flight stand as the one that came with the model looks naff so I'll drill a 6mm hole in the underside and that should do the trick!

So lets have a look at the "pledge"

Bought - 6 models

Painted - 26 Models

Differance + 20

so for a really slow month thats not too bad to be honest, Now I've got some replacement glasses so I can basicly see again lets see what makes it from the table in what I'm calling operation "finish that fucking model" as I've no games lined up so don't have any motivation to paint a particular force I've jumping around from unit to unit and really enjoying the creative juices flowing again!

So till next time stay lucky and chin me muckers!

Like a phoenix from the ashes!

Well Well Well!

Hasn't it been a while ladies and gentlemen!

Well you might ask what I've been upto in the last 7 yes 7! months, apart from watching the world go nuts with various bits and bobs going off, I've painted... Alot....

so lets do a whirlwind of whats been happening geek wise in the world of the Anarchy!

Well the start of the year kicked off really well with a wide varierty of models painted for various systems,

however due to a few external situations i.e. work Feb & March was effectively nothing, and once that had settled then April presented a world eater marathon to coinside with the start of lockdown ironicly!

Then in May I finally got round to finishing the reaver titan and started on a Badab war project just in time for 9th Ed 40K to be announced, at that point I thought it would be fun to see how many raptors I could get done before the rules got released.

Well after some hardcore batch painting I managed to get most of the inital goal done and started working towards the second batch however I got a bit bored of painting power armour...

After some discussion with the GC I decided to pick up the new 40K box and huge thanks goto Gifts for Geeks who sorted me out with a box when I thought I'd missed out on a really good deal of a box.

I'll be adding the necrons to my previous army and will let the GC decide on what colours that the marines will be painted, I'm tempted by adding to the raptors however as this is not going to be my army I'm going to give some guidance wih regards to the painting but these will be the GC's first army.

So lets have a brief overview of the pledge...

Month        Bought    Painted    Differance

Jan                16            58            +42

Feb               38             0              -38

March           32            10             -22

April              0              9              +9

May              21            35             +14

June               0             19             +19

July                1            105            +104

One thing I can see from the numbers is that the lack of shows due to Covid certainly shows add the fact that I needed to pull back my spending for a while has certainly had a postive effect on the pledge and I've no doubt that it will continue through out the rest of the year.

anyhow I won;t leave it as long next time and catch you all on the flip side
