Ragnar..... Get to the Thunderhawk......

So the week started like.....

This was supposed to be a painting day round Spencers but ended up being GH world tour loving as well as some hawx thrown in there for good measure ;)

however after some focus and staying away from the distracting things within my home (the computer & Nadine's lovey boobies)

I managed to get this little lot done, now before I hear screams of where's the pack & comapany markings... I'm trying to find my 3rd ed codex with all the fluff in it so have left them plain for the mean time, also the sand is still drying as I type this now so that'd be sorted by Monday night, I'm kinda in shock I set myself a dead line and managed it!

The Squad was made from a box of the new wolves and a normal tac Sqd, Stef and I split the wolf box and I opted for blood claws, Stef went for the grey hunters. I've seen Stef's test model and it does look really cool but mine are done so there ;)

Just for you Mr Molds....

Well after much moaning from the man like Spencer I've taken some pic's for ya, I've not had much time recently and been a slacker on the titan, too much beer & warcraft but I'll get cracking on with it at some point!

Gifts for Geeks asked myself and a fellow wolfman nutcase aka Stef to paint the new shiney wolves for the shop and I nearly bit Dustins hand off for that oppertunity so thats my focus at the moment to get those done to a decient standard and attempt to out do the local workshop as there overall painting isn't what it used to be,

so on with the show....

The base that I done whilst twitching on relentless...

The lighting claw body guard for typhus with a heavy flamer for good measure

The first squad from the ebay guys that I won used the same technique for the previous death guard and they look mint,

The cockpit of the forgeworld warhound, the red is still not floating my boat but I'm going to carry on with it and see how the whole model looks rather than making a snap decision based on the head, the internal were quite easy to do so I quite happy that Spencer convinced me not to cover it up

Close ups

The main torso internal work in progress, I've not stuck the centre door in just so that I can get the brush to where I need it to got I've only a little bit to do and then I can apply the wash and then crack on with the external brass and red, then I'll do the legs and finially the weapons so the theory goes...

And a little something to keep me going completely to the darkside! I'm going to see if I can get these done by the end of the week so Gifts for Geeks can have them a week early before release, thats as light as I'm going to take the armour I've had a thumb through the lastest white dwarf and the masterclass guide is nice but I paint armies not models so gonna keep it basic and neat but rather than gold every where going to go for brass should suit the wolves nicely

This is where the "magic" happens...

Ok so Its been a while since I've updated, but boy oh boy have I been busy!

The warhound is assembled, after much chin scratching and faffing about its been primed and worked on, I started with the cockpit to see how the techinque that I've used on the death guard would work on the internals of the warhound, and as I thought it works fine with the chaos "factor" in there the dirty grimey look suits it very well,

After talking with my personal Wikipedia for 40K (Lord Molds) a dark red carapace will be the main colour scheme with a brass edging, throw in the odd dark looking boltgun and thats the vision, Once I've the cover for the cockpit done I'll post some snaps so you see the kind of effect that I'm going to be going for.

I've also managed to get the base sorted so that the model now has a home to live on and its not too bad if I say so myself! dead easy to do....

  • Can of relentless
  • Tank brush
  • Some loud music
  • Done!
to keep in with the theme and to kinda give that sly wink to Ross with his beloved Dark Angels the abandoned rhino is of course a very dark looking green no chapter markings but you know who you belong to ;)

So after I did the cockpit the main torso insides are going to be worked on and they are ready for the metal highlight and then onto the fleshly bits to give it the fresh exploded human corpse look!

So look out for pics over the next few days for the progress on the titan and the recent chaos terminators that I've also completed which had there fabulos first game roll out where they decided to deepstrike into a bastion and decided to destory themselves!!!

Oh how me & Ross giggled at that as we played our "joint" strike force attacking an imperial line in Jack's Campaign down gifts for geeks, Surprisingly enough charging across an open killing field with a few bits & bobs of cover went as expected... enough said.

Anton out.
